Michael Cole has enjoyed success in three distinct spheres: for 27 years he was a front-line journalist, working for the BBC in 56 countries, his reports winning Royal Television Society’s awards in 1983 and 1984. After three years as BBC TV Court Correspondent accredited to Buckingham Palace, he was invited to join the Main Board of the Harrods Group of Companies where he was Director of Public Affairs for 10 years. After retiring from Harrods in 1998, he hosted The Michael Cole Show, Living TV’s most popular programme, set up his own successful PR consultancy, writes newspaper columns and feature articles and it often invited to broadcast on royal and other topics.

What happens when the worst happens?

How do you cope when crisis envelops you or your company and the world demands answers? Cole draws on his unique experience of fighting big business battles, combatting political fire storms and being the Al Fayed family spokesman after the tragic deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed in Paris in 1997 to tell you how to ride any storm, survive and keep your dignity.

How to communicate with a tired and cynical world what thinks that you, your company or your country are yesterday’s news with nothing new to say or offer

Cole, who has taken on some of the toughest PR jobs that can be imagined, tells you how to tell your story in a way that ensures that people will not just listen but approve and maybe even applaud.

Building a brand and protecting its reputation is not a science but an art

Every case requires and deserves specialised attention and a particular touch. Cole, who has worked with a number of the most famous names in British and international business, provides the insights that make the difference between continued and increasing success and dwindling failure.
