General (ret.) Giora Eiland is the former Head of Israel's National Security Council, an office he held following an illustrious career in the Israel Defense Forces, including as Head of Planning Branch and Head of Operational Branch. Eiland served in all positions through the chain of command, participating in the 1973 War, the 1976 Entebbe rescue operation, and the 1982 Lebanon War.
As head of the N.S.C, he was involved in all of Israel’s important strategic decision-making and was placed in the top security echelon within Israel and Internationally.
