The Druze and the State of Israel

The lecture focuses on the Druze community from a historical and religious perspective and its long-standing relationship with the Jewish people and the State of Israel from the time of Jethro and Moses to the present day. The lecture begins with a deep understanding of the community from a religious and historical standpoint, breaking many stereotypes and providing a sharp and profound understanding of the unique religion and its development from the days of Jethro and Moses, its declaration as a separate
community during the Islamic period, particularly the Fatimid Shadi Abu Faris Colonel (res) period in Egypt. In this context, we will discuss the waves of immigration and Druze settlement in the Land of Israel, including characteristics, beliefs, and processes. An important chapter in the lecture will focus on the community's integration in the defense of the State of Israel even before its establishment and during the events of the Arab uprising, as well as the collaborations that arose from the identification of common interests between the peoples that matured into a fateful decision to enlist and volunteer in the War of Independence alongside the Jewish community. We will address the challenges of today, the relations between the community and the Israeli governments. Let's conclude with a discussion and dialogue about the current hot topics and the new Middle East.
